Anytime someone has asked me what kind of development is planned for the Peninsula, I've been replying, "a mixed-use development that will include residential, commercial and retail space." That rather clinical response usually produced a reaction along the lines of, "huh."
But I'm changing it up thanks to an exchange with a former Warrenite known to many of you, my old friend David Zoba. David is a smart guy, but he has some special chops when it comes to evaluating a development like this, as he is recently retired from his professional gig as Senior Vice President, Global Real Estate and Development for the Gap. David writes, "I am a supporter and think this is a first class approach."
He goes on to compare our vision for the Peninsula to Easton Town Center, (above) the massive development on the eastern perimeter of Columbus. "The vision is a wonderful live, work, play environment that will only enhance the rest of downtown Warren."
That simple little phrase, "Live, Work, Play" brings so much more life to the accurate, but dull, "mixed-use" label, and I'm committed to making it my new descriptor. The Peninsula will be a place people will be drawn to precisely because it offers this particular combination of solutions to three basic human needs.
With that thought, we wish you a Merry Christmas, Happy Hanukkah, Joyous Kwanzaa and a safe and sane Winter Solstice — not to mention a Happy New Year. We'll be back in early 2025 with more on the effort to transform Warren. Thank you for joining us.
“Live, Work,Play” is a perfect descriptor!
